Electronic + Experimental Music

Listening to “Echoes” on WXPN in the early 90’s was my introduction to electronic sonic experiments. This was a genre that filled an interesting and important space in my development as a songwriter and composer. Although it would be years before I attempted to write electronic music in a free way, this early listening helped shape my aural sensibilities in accepting free form music and sonic experiences.

The piece, “Philasophical Sounds” was a short piece I wrote to accompany a poem. Free from meter, time signature and melodic motifs, this piece has really grown on me over time. I’ll be exploring this approach to music composition in addition to my other interests.
